Highway 51 is a highly traveled highway with approximately 22,000 vehicles per day recorded. The population at this site is approximately 10,000 in a 3 mile radius and 19,000 in a 5 mile radius. The new Walmart Supercenter located at 11th Street and Highway 51 is due open approximately in April, 2008, and on the opposite corner ground is being turned for a new McDonalds. Several new strip centers have been constructed and are current being leased up. There will be a new National Guard Reserve Armory to be completed in 2009 located at 257th and 101st Street next the Muskogee Turnpike. This new armory will bring over 2400 troops per month into the area, and these troop will need temporary housing, food and gas which will definitely add to the economy of the area. |
